The Legend of The Jews

Born in Lithuania, Rabbi Louis Ginzberg was one of the top scholar in the field of Talmudic learning.

He served with distinction as Professor of Talmud at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, for more than 50 years.

The Legend of the Jews is a monumental work written in German, an anthology of rabbinic midrash and classical but disparate Jewish tales, and of biblical legends of the ancient leaders of the People of Israel.
